The Week That Was…

Filed under: Online Marketing — marketman @ 11:39 pm

I wish I could say that everything I plan for gets done without a hitch. Without problems. Without hassle.

Well we all know that’s never the case and life as it always does happens.

I admit that I was not able to complete the goals I made for the week. And I thought even back then that I might not.

The task I needed to complete were as follows:

1. Build hub site with the linking directory script in place.
2. Set up and build new sites from the keyword list compiled last week.
3. compile new keyword list for next week.

Of these I completed 2… sort of.

I was able to generate a new keyword list and while I was able to purchase the domain for the new list, I have not, as of yet, completed building the websites. I also was able to put up a link directory, but I haven’t been able to get it integrated design-wise to the site. So all that counts as 1 completed task and the other 2 half done.

I could make excuses and have legitimate reasons for not completing the task but in the end, they are what they are… excuses.

On the bright side, I purchase another ebook on adsense and I got it at a great price. more importantly though the information inside was very valuable and really helped give me a more solid strategy to emulate. When their site officially launches on the 27th of June, I will give a review on this blog

This week and the coming weeks look brighter and more productive because of what I learned last week.

What looked like a setback was merely really good feedback on how to make the right adjustments.

Late on my To-do list

Filed under: Online Marketing — marketman @ 6:40 pm

I was suppose to do this yesterday….my bad.

This week, I am going to implement a linking strategy for the websites I put up last week. This involves a new domain that I will put up that will act as a hub for all my sites.

This way, I only need to concentrate my indexing efforts on one site and have the SE spiders find my other sites through the hub. And if I can build up the page rank of the hub site, theoretically, my other sites would get indexed faster.

I’ve already got a free linking directory script that looks good but might be too complicated for my skill level. I’ve got it installed already but design elements of the directory and merging it with my site’s template is leaving me dazed and confused.

So the plan for the week is as follows:
1. Build hub site with the linking directory script in place.
2. Set up and build new sites from the keyword list compiled last week.
3. compile new keyword list for next week.

That’s going to be a big workload but the more my sites are up and indexed, the sooner I can generate adsense revenue, then I can be lazy again.

On a side note: I just want to acknowledge a big WOO HOO accomplishment for design-handicapped guy like me. I built my first CSS template… well, modified from an existing template design really, but it looked like I knew what I was doing and it only took me about 6+ hours. I went to bed at about 4:30 AM this morning, but the results were worth it!
