The first 48 hours…
I basically spent the whole weekend glued to my computer doing research. Then more research… then finally more research.
Now that I’ve crawled out from under the “basement”, I have a plan.
I want to generate income quickly (short-term) and build a foundation to leverage my efforts and create passive income (long-term).
My long-term plans are to create highly ranked, content-filled websites promoting specialty products and the ultimate goal is creating digital products to sell online and automate that whole process. That is still in the pre-planning stage as I try to find a suitable niche to focus on and that wil require more research ;-p
As my long-term plans get more structured, i’ll post them here.
My short -term plans are more concrete.
“Partnering” up with Google, my strategy for the next 12 months is generate income using Google Adwords and Google Adsense.
My research showed that implementing these strategies properly, I could to earn 2 to 3 thousand per month part-time to well over 6 figures per month full-time.
While I want to be the guy that makes the homerun right of the bat and make 50,000 per month… Realistically, my goal is to generate $5,000 or more within the next 6 months, working about 5 hours a day.
I have already set up an Adwords account and applied for Adsense over the weekend.
I’ve settled on an initial budget of $1,000.00 to get me started. As far as capitalization goes, that’s incredibly cheap. It’s nearly impossible to set up a viable business for that amount in the “real” world. Rent and inventory alone would stop you dead in your tracks. But for my online plans, that should be sufficient for the next 3 months.
Being a complete newbie, it can all seem to be a bit overwhelming. You’re essentially alone, crawling your way around in the dark, and not sure if you’re really going the right way. The best strategy to overcome all that is to Plan, Focus, and Organize.
90% of all businesses fail in the 1st year and that’s primarily because they didn’t have a plan. Planning here is key (for me especially) as I have mapped out the steps I’ll take for the next 3 months to hit a 12 month goal. Every quarter, I’ll re-evaluate my strategies to see if I did better or worse and make changes for the next 3 months.
With a plan in hand, I just have to organize the steps to do them in the most eficient way, then focus on doing the steps and stay on track.
With a lot of uncertainty when starting a new business, it’s easy to get distracted by unimportant things but planning and organization helps you keep that focus.
It’s also best if you can get experts to help you in your business. It will help you avoid or minize all the pitfalls along the way.
To that end, I also subscribed to an online membership website that provides the tools, advice and guidance for the very business strategies I am implementing.
At $97 per month, it may seem pretty expensive but I have already saved at least twice that on software they provide for free with a lot more on the way. More than that, the members have been very generous in giving advice and step by step instructions that are helpful to a technically-challenged newbie like myself. It’s only been 2 days but the value of my investment has been more than worth it so far.
If anyone else reading this would like to check it out, it’s called the Revenue Insider. I hear he is raising the price soon to $147. but even then, the software they provides will save you at least $700 easily and the information they provide is invaluable.
That’s it for now. I’ll continue to posts my actions and its consequences as they happen.
Oh yeah… It’s warm, sunny and bright outside today. A beautiful day here in SoCal to go to the beach, oggle the beach bunnies or catch the new Star Wars movie… instead, I’m doing this. That’s focus and dedication!! hehe
